Toad Lily (Tricyrtis hirta)
This easy to grow shade loving perennial bears star shaped white flowers with dark purple spotting in late Summer and Autumn before becoming dormant well into the Winter season.
Toad Lilies are delicate looking woodland plants but they really are quite tough. Growing best with regular watering during the hot Summer months, they prefer full to partial shade with a moist but well drained soil. In cooler areas mulch to protect from frost once plants become dormant.
